What is the Lovely Messy Humans method?
Whether you're looking to overcome emotional blocks, improve relationships or unlock new opportunities for growth, I am here to support you. Together, we’ll work towards achieving the personal breakthroughs you desire
My approach is intuitive and coaching-based, using scientifically proven techniques rooted in neuroscience. These innovative methods, like many holistic practices, are yet to be adopted in the mainstream medical system. However, with over 1,000 certified practitioners globally, they are gaining traction and have helped people around the world transform their lives.
This is your journey, and you are in control. I support you in identifying your goals and understanding the mind-body science of healing. I believe in self-led healing and hold space for you to safely work on what you know, deep down, you need to do.
Havening Techniques®: a revolutionary approach to healing and transformation
Havening Techniques® tap into your brain’s natural, biological ability to heal itself, offering a powerful way to release the impacts of past experiences. Taking its name from the concept of a "safe haven," this approach generates Delta waves in the brain, creating a deep sense of safety that allows us to access and rewire parts of our mind that are usually beyond reach.
During a Havening session, your brain undergoes a literal transformation, rewiring itself to reduce the negative effects of past experiences and opening up to new possibilities. This cutting-edge method, also known as Amygdala Depotentiation, deactivates memories stored in the brain’s limbic system which can drive anxiety, fear, stress and avoidance. Havening offers a fast and effective path to change, without the need for traditional talk therapy.
Developed over 20 years ago by Dr. Ronald A. Ruden, M.D., Ph.D., and Steven J. Ruden, D.D.S., ICF/ACC, Havening Techniques have since changed thousands of lives. This client-centred approach works by altering brain chemistry and changing the speed of brain waves to dissolve traumatic memories, leaving us with a stronger, more resilient nervous system and a shifting how we experience life.
Havening transforms how our brain holds onto past experiences. By addressing the root causes of emotional distress and personal limitations, it offers a safe and efficient journey towards lasting change.

Therapy deals with diagnosing and treating mental health issues. It involves working with a licensed mental health professional to address psychological issues, emotional challenges and mental health conditions. Havening Techniques® is a psychosensory method and does not replace treatment by a medical practitioner/physician or medical prescriptions or measures. I offer my services solely as a wellness practitioner and stress management coach and our relationship is not to be construed as psychotherapy, psychological counseling, or any type of therapy.
-
The first session is usually an introductory meeting where we discuss your ideal outcomes, challenges, and expectations. It's an opportunity to see if we are a good fit and to outline a potential coaching and mentoring plan.
The session will include an overview of how Havening works and the science behind it.
We will then agree work that will be undertaken during the session, ending with a short check-in and discussion of next steps.
-
Once you've undergone a Havening session, you'll notice a difference in how you feel. The challenge you were facing may no longer hold the same power - it may seem like a distant memory that is no longer as emotionally charged. You might feel calmer, safer, lighter and more empowered. The wiring of your brain has been permanently altered, so you'll never again experience that memory or experience in the same way again. You might also experience a feeling of being calm or even sleepy, due to the generation of Delta waves.

The number of sessions varies based on individual needs and circumstances. Some people find that a few sessions is all they need, while others may benefit from ongoing support.
-
Absolutely. All information shared during coaching sessions is kept confidential, adhering to professional ethical standards. One of the benefits of Havening Techniques is that it is possible to work content free, meaning you do not have to disclose all the details of what you want to work on.

Havening is a psychosensory method and does not replace treatment by a medical practitioner.
Havening Techniques may be usefully applied alongside working with a qualified therapist. Your therapist should always be consulted - you will be required to provide confirmation of this before we work together.
I offer services solely as a wellness coach and Havening Techniques practitioner and our relationship is not to be construed as psychotherapy, psychological counselling, or any type of therapy.
I am not qualified to coach any person diagnosed as having a psychotic illness such as bipolar disorder, epilepsy or schizophrenia.

Generally clients experience positive outcomes and report resolution of the specific concerns within a single session. Clinical reports show no additional side-effects when the approach is used appropriately, but in some cases, when working on past trauma, it is possible to experience emotional distress and/or physical discomfort that can be perceived as negative. This is why we will always work at a pace that feels safe, comfortable and that reflects your current level of resilience.
